Harmony

Why We Love this Amazing Community

Nestled just northwest of Calgary near Cochrane and Bearspaw, Harmony is a thoughtfully designed lake community launched in 2016. With mountain vistas, a grand vision and incredible amenities, Harmony is the perfect community for growing families.

Recipient of the 2019 Community of the Year Calgary Region

Every year, BILD Calgary Region Awards celebrate the most creative and professional work in the Calgary home building industry. The awards were created by the Calgary Home Builders Association more than 30 years ago and were initiated to recognize quality products and accomplishments among builders, developers and suppliers. For the third time, Harmony has been named the BILD Community of the Year – Calgary Region.

1. Community Amenities

As the only new master planned lake community on Calgary’s west-side, Life in Harmony includes beaches, golf, parks, playgrounds, trails, a future village centre, a spa and everything in between. Everything you want in a new community comes together in one remarkable, welcoming place.

Future Village Centre Shops

From services, retail to residential – Harmony’s future lakefront village will be the gathering place. One of the many features as part of the Harmony lifestyle experience is the Village Centre. Still in conceptual stages, it was envisioned to attract a variety of shops and services to complement its residents and guests. From medical and professional services to the potential for owner-operated bistros and markets, the vision for the Village Centre is to be a gathering place for the ages where neighbours can connect and be part of the community.

Mickelson National Golf Club

A premier world-class golf experience with a uniquely Canadian prairie setting offers a thrilling 18 holes for the best golfers in the world and young players looking to grow their love for the game. Residents of Harmony receive a Social Membership to this private championship course. This membership includes four rounds of golf per year, access to the future clubhouse, unlimited access to the driving range and “The Hanger” Golf Shop and more.

Harmony Lake & Beach Club

The community of Harmony is built around two carefully engineered and maintained man-made lakes. At completion, the lakes will provide 140 acres of water for fishing, swimming and non-motorized boating. Harmony’s first 40-acre lake is complete and the perfect backdrop to amazing summer fun. Residents spend summer days relaxing on the South Beach, building sandcastles, swimming or taking advantage of the picnic tables for a mid-day meal. In 2020, the South Beach will welcome a change room facility with washroom.

Global Wellness Spa by Groupe Nordik

At the heart of the future Village Centre in Harmony will be a world-renowned spa designed, built and operated by the prestigious Groupe Nordik. Groupe Nordik has developed an expertise and quickly become a strong leader in the wellness, tourism and hospitality industry. Body treatments, massage, and sauna rituals will be a norm when you live in Harmony. Construction to begin 2021, slated completion in 2023.

2. Community Initiatives

Supporting local community initiatives:

  • Harmony is extremely proud to support Haley Daniels on her journey to represent Canada on the world stage in competitive white water slalom canoeing.
  • Harmony’s ongoing School & Learning Program, a progressive outreach initiative that compliments the Social Studies Curriculum in elementary schools wherein they learn about the characteristics and development of communities in Canada.
  • Donated +/- $35,000 for the construction of the RCMP office in the Park for All Seasons, helping to ensure all residents and especially children feel safe in the community they so proudly call home.
  • Harmony was a proud Bronze Sponsor of the Springbank Community High School “One World” club’s event that brought Craig Kielburger (founder of Free the Children) to the community. Kielburger spoke to local students and families and the event raised funds for the club which supports development projects overseas every year.
  • Harmony partnered with the KO Arts Centre to bring art to life in local schools. Alongside acclaimed artists Harry Kiyooka and Katie Ohe, Patricia Lorte-Sparks worked with students at Ecole Elbow Valley Elementary, Springbank Middle School, and Springbank Community High School to create a collaborative installation piece that was later displayed at the KO Arts Centre public sculpture garden.

3. Sustainability

Harmony was designed with a commitment to social, environmental and fiscal sustainability and responsibility.

Higher efficiency buildings, water conservation, recycling and reduction plan of construction waste, naturalized open spaces, contamination plan and a carbon footprint reduction.

Harmony’s innovative Integrated Water Strategy will be one of the most advanced in North America and will lead Alberta in water conservation practices. We have partnered with local authorities and global thought leaders to ensure that Harmony conserves, reuses, and respects this natural resource throughout the water cycle.

4. Art Programs

Harmony prioritizes and promotes arts and cultural activities as few other masterplanned neighbourhoods do…

– ‘Cultivate’, Dan Corson, 2016.

“Cultivate” symbolizes the history of the land, while also welcoming people to a vibrant new place for future generations of families and visitors. Placed at the entrance of Harmony, Cultivate consists of three internally lit plow sculptures, ranging in height from 16 to 23 feet. The sculptures were fabricated from weathering steel, and internally painted gold.

– ‘[Re]newal – Profound Cycles’ by Gordon Skilling, 2019.

Each panel represents the past, present and future. The past is symbolized by earth playing an homage to the history of the land. The present is represented by a sprig of Pale Blue Eyed grass given to a child by an adult, depicting the family oriented spirit of Harmony. The future showcases water, sustainability and resilience.

5. Building Potential

Some gorgeous lots are available for purchase in Harmony, and when you pair that with an amazing builder, you have a little piece of heaven that you can call home. Augusta, Baywest, Broadview, Calbridge, Nu Vista, Sterling and Streetside are all offering distinctly beautiful architectural spaces that range in price. With diverse housing styles and character architecture, Harmony will welcome you to the home that captures your heart with a truly unique sense of place. The amazing thing, is that there’s truly something for everyone.

“Harmony’s not just a place. It’s a philosophy. Connections are at the heart of well-being and Harmony is the place to connect with neighbours, family and friends. Our residents don’t just live, but thrive! Our biggest ambassadors are those with the pioneering spirit of creating a community from the ground up.” (here).

This beautiful community encompasses everything a true community should: a sense of belonging, just like it’s namesake.
